Camp Ivydale Report – Clint Davison

Lesson 15 of 38 July 17, 2023

The class opened with Clint Davison delivering a comprehensive report on the recent Camp Ivydale session. He described the camp’s long heritage, the new shade structure over the worship area, updated restroom facilities, and the enthusiastic participation of a record‑setting 117 full‑time campers. He praised the dedicated staff—counselors, kitchen crew, nurses, and directors—who made the week possible, and highlighted the spiritual milestones, especially seven baptisms that took place in the pool. The teaching then shifted to the camp’s central theme, “Crucified and Living for Jesus,” rooted in Galatians 2:20. Clint explained how the curriculum explored three layers: God’s view of each person, how that perspective shapes a Christian worldview, and the individual responsibility each believer carries. Through songs, prayers, and discussions, campers were encouraged to internalize the truth that they are crucified with Christ and that Christ lives in them, shaping how they engage the world and the church. Overall, the session celebrated both the logistical successes of Camp Ivydale and the spiritual impact on the youth, underscoring the importance of community, leadership, and living out the gospel daily.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
