Guest Speaker_ Jesus

Lesson 39 of 57 September 18, 2023

In the class, Clint Davison opened by welcoming visitors and announcing upcoming church events before moving into the core lesson: what Jesus might say if He addressed a New Testament congregation today. He explained that while Jesus never preached to a post‑Resurrection church, the letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2‑3 serve as a proxy for His message, revealing a consistent heart, mind, and purpose. Clint examined several verses—Revelation 2:8, 2:18, 3:7, 2:2, 2:19, 3:1, 3:8, 3:15, 2:9 and John 2:24‑25—highlighting three main themes: Jesus first reminds believers of His identity (Alpha and Omega, Son of God, Holy One); He declares total knowledge of each person’s works and character; and He calls believers to live in the light of that knowledge, discarding pretenses. The teaching urged the congregation to remember who Jesus is daily, to embrace His perfect assessment, and to let His understanding transform their walk of faith.
