I Am The Vine

Lesson 29 of 57 July 10, 2023

The class opened with a warm welcome and a recap of recent outreach events, including the Mountain States service project and upcoming community initiatives such as the Mom’s Car Care Clinic and the family retreat at Trinity Pines. After sharing these updates, the teacher shifted focus to the theological series on Jesus’ "I am" statements, explaining how each declaration reveals an aspect of Christ’s identity and invites believers into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him. By revisiting the Bread of Life, Light of the World, Door, Good Shepherd, and Resurrection and the Life, the teacher illustrated how these truths meet our spiritual needs, guide us through darkness, provide safety, shepherd us with love, and give us hope beyond the grave. The session concluded with a reflective illustration about ancient grapevines, drawing a parallel between the enduring vigor of a vine and the sustaining power of Christ’s presence in believers’ lives. The teacher emphasized that knowing Jesus intimately transforms worship into daily living, urging members to apply the "I am" truths, serve one another, and prepare hearts for the upcoming retreat and grief seminar.

John 15:5

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.
