Future Preacher Training Camp Lessons

Lesson 25 of 52 June 30, 2025

This Bible study class featured presentations from young men who attended the Future Preacher Training Camp (FPTC), a week-long program hosted by Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver since 1999. The teacher explained that FPTC aims to reach and encourage young men considering full-time ministry, while also equipping all participants with valuable leadership, presentation, and communication skills applicable both within and beyond the church. Connor Broyles presented the first sermon on the theme "God's Inclusive Offer of Salvation," drawing from 1 Timothy 2. He explained that despite perceptions of Christianity as exclusive, God desires all people to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth. Using the metaphor of a river with Christ as a bridge, he emphasized that Jesus is the one mediator and ransom for all humanity. Broyles concluded that Christians can facilitate salvation through two primary means: prayer (especially for leaders) and preaching God's word to those who do not yet know it. David Pearson presented the second sermon on "God's Limitless Creation," beginning with a personal reflection comparing his limited Lego-building abilities to God's infinite creative power. Drawing from Psalm 19:1-6, Pearson explored how God's creation declares His glory and excellent craftsmanship. Both sermons exemplified the excellence in biblical presentation that FPTC develops in young men, demonstrating their commitment to preaching God's word with skill and conviction.

1 Timothy 2:1-6

There is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
