March 29th Event Sermon

Lesson 6 of 50 March 30, 2020

The class centered on the importance of maintaining a spiritual vision during times of darkness, using the story of Elisha in 2 Kings 6 as a central teaching. Clint Davison emphasized that Christians must view challenges through a spiritual lens, recognizing that God's presence is the key to overcoming obstacles. The teacher highlighted how the king of Aram's attempt to capture Elisha reveals the enemy's strategy to distort our perception of problems and hinder God's work. The message urged the congregation to shift their focus from temporary circumstances to eternal goals, trusting that God's purposes are always at work. By examining the narrative, the class explored how believers can resist despair and align their lives with divine vision.

2 Kings 6:8-14

The king of Aram was enraged because of this matter. And he called his servants and demanded to them, Tell me, which one of us is for the king of Israel? One of his servants said, No one, my lord, the king. Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel, Even the words you speak in your bedroom. So the king said, Go and see where he is so I can send men to capture him. And then he was told that Elisha is in Dothan. So the king of Syria... he sent horses, chariots, and a massive army there. They went by night and surrounded the city.
