2023 Linder Road Men's Rally - 3_25_2023 - Session Four

Lesson 6 of 6 March 26, 2023

The teacher draws a compelling analogy of believers as the 'visiting team' in a spiritual battle against a world opposed to God. Emphasizing the unseen war between the forces of darkness and the redemptive work of Jesus, the lesson highlights the supremacy of Christ as revealed in Colossians 1:13-14, where believers are rescued from darkness and transferred into the kingdom of His beloved Son. The discussion also explores 1 Corinthians 15:26, which declares that death, the last enemy, will be abolished, affirming Jesus’ ultimate victory. The teacher underscores that God governs the universe through Jesus, the mediator of grace, and calls believers to combat spiritual challenges by focusing on the root—God’s authority and Christ’s completed work on the cross.

Colossians 1:13-20

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church, and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

1 Corinthians 15:26-28

The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says all things are put in subjection, it is clear that this excludes the Father who put all things in subjection to Him. When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subjected to Him, so that God may be all in all.
