And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee, I will make my covenant with him, and with his seed after him, in the generations to come. And the covenant of circumcision. And the Lord said unto Abram, Thou shalt keep my covenant, thou and thy seed after thee in their generations; this is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Even every male child among you shall be circumcised; and ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, which are born in your house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. And the servant born in the house, and the one bought with money, shall be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised male child, whose flesh of the foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant. And Abram fell on his face, and laughed, and said within himself, Oh that the children might be a blessing!
