Walk with me

Lesson 11 of 11 September 26, 2022

The teacher closed the Walk With Me series by revisiting each thematic lesson and connecting them to the ultimate command to preach. He emphasized that the Great Commission (Mark 16:15) is Jesus’ final statement to His followers, not merely a motivational phrase, and that each “Me” lesson—follow, understand, crowd, interrupt, touch, fear, oppose, believe, pray, suffer, remember—builds toward that mission. Scripture was used to illustrate how Jesus prepared His disciples, often in ways they did not grasp, especially regarding His suffering, death, and resurrection. He highlighted the disciples’ frequent misunderstanding of Jesus’ words (e.g., Mark 8:31‑32, 9:31) and showed how the resurrection (Mark 16:5‑7) reinstated their purpose to preach. The teacher urged the class to view interruptions and crowds as opportunities, to recognize the power of touch and prayer, and to confront opposition with Christ’s authority. Finally, he called the congregation to hold fast to their convictions (Hebrews 3:14) and to go forth as witnesses of the risen Christ, echoing the memorial of the Lord’s Supper and the call to live out the Gospel daily.

Mark 16:15

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Hebrews 3:14

We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the end.

Mark 16:1-7

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go and anoint Jesus' body. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side. 'Don't be alarmed,' he said. 'You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'
