God's Man - A Focused Heart

Lesson 1 of 4 March 18, 2017

The men’s rally at Linder Road Church of Christ gathered participants from across the Treasure Valley and beyond for a two‑day fellowship centered on the theme “God’s Man – A Focused Heart.” Brother Jeff Jenkins, a seasoned pastor from Louisville, Texas, opened the session by sharing personal anecdotes and highlighting the importance of unity among believers. He introduced the key biblical passage, Philippians 3, emphasizing verses 7‑10, where Paul declares his desire to know Christ and be conformed to His resurrection and death. Jeff outlined four observations for cultivating a focused heart: identifying one’s purpose, fixing thoughts on Jesus, living purpose‑driven action, and pressing forward with perseverance. Throughout the teaching, Jeff encouraged the men to view their ultimate aim not merely as reaching heaven, but as knowing and imitating Jesus daily. He linked this pursuit to the practical responsibilities of husbands, fathers, and church leaders, urging participants to write prayer requests and engage in collective prayer. The rally concluded with fellowship, a shared lunch, and a call to apply the focused heart principles in each man's personal, family, and ministry spheres.
