Lesson 37 of 38 December 23, 2024

The class began with a hands‑on illustration, asking participants to feel their own pulse as a metaphor for the life‑giving presence of Christ. The teacher explained that just as a pulse signals vitality, Jesus Christ serves as the pulse of God within the Church, animating believers through the Holy Spirit. He contrasted contemporary, often superficial definitions of Christianity with the biblical description found in the New Testament. Drawing from Galatians 1:6‑9, the lesson highlighted early church confusion and warned against distorting the gospel. The focus then shifted to 1 John 1:1‑4, where the teacher unpacked the "Word of life"—Jesus—as the eternal, life‑giving source. Further verses (John 1:1, 1:4, 1:15; John 6:68) reinforced Christ's divinity, authority, and role as the bearer of eternal life. The teacher also referenced the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5‑7) and 2 Timothy 3:16 to demonstrate how the apostolic witness and Scripture equip believers to proclaim this pulse to the world.

Galatians 1:6-9

1 John 1:1-4

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands concerning the word of life. And the life was manifested and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the father and was manifested to us. What we have seen and heard, we proclaim to you also so that you too may have fellowship with us. Indeed, our fellowship is with the father and with his son, Jesus Christ. These things we write so that our joy may be made a complete.
